- I placed the chilli pepper in my mouth and chewed it up fast. Nothing initially, only a faint tingle. Then, a wave of heat tore through my senses, like I had dipped my face into a seething pot of water. My eyes grew wide, reddening in an instant as they reacted to the heat, and I struggled to keep a straight face. I continued to chew the chilli, my mouth ablaze as though someone had lit a match and torched my taste buds.
- Jack Josephs glanced at me and commented, "Is it hot? Spit it out now. I know you can't handle it."
