• “You’re thinking too much,” Kade’s voice came low and steady, but there was an edge of amusement in it. I glanced over at him, feeling his hand brush against mine as we walked side by side through the forest. The trees were quiet, still, and the night air held a strange calmness—a peace I hadn’t realized we’d been missing.
