Chapter 29
- “Is this what I’m supposed to be?” My voice felt foreign, thick with disbelief. My hands shook as I gripped the edge of the stone table, the ancient text before me now a blur. The words seemed to mock me with their promise of power, of destiny, and of a future that felt completely out of my control.
- “You’re more than that, Ava,” Damian’s voice was calm, unwavering. He stood at my side, but his presence did little to calm the storm raging inside me. I was the one foretold to bring balance between the wolves and humans. I was the key to ending the war, the only one with the power to unite or destroy. I hadn’t even fully understood the depths of my power until now. I didn’t know how to use it, and even worse, I wasn’t sure I wanted to.
