• “Who the hell is this?” My voice was low but laced with fury as I glanced down at the note in my hand. It was handwritten, the ink smeared slightly, as if it had been hastily scrawled down. But the message was clear. You’re mine now.
• I felt a cold chill run down my spine, an inexplicable tension building in my chest. It wasn’t the words that scared me. It was the idea that someone—someone I had never met—knew about me. About us.
