- Marie's eyes widened in disbelief, her mind racing. "Take over the business? But I don't know the first thing about operating a firm!"
- "You're a brilliant girl, Marie. You were usually eager to pick up new things. And your father trained you well." He stopped, his expression serious. "Besides, the Smith family tradition must be protected because grandfather is now old.”
- Marie maintained her loving look on her grandfather. "You're right, Grandpa," Marie responded, her voice firm but full with confidence. "I can do this. I can continue on the Smith family legacy." A sense of purpose came over her, a fresh drive racing through her veins. She straightened her shoulders, answering her grandfather's stare with renewed confidence.
