Chapter 42

• Dragan wasn't joking. The speed at which the group of vampires took off was unimaginable. The environment rushed past me as if I were flying. Like in the old science fiction films, everything blurred on the left and right and only colours, lights and confused silhouettes of objects could be seen. I closed my eyes and clutched his neck, only hearing the sounds and feeling the wind. It seemed like an eternity, when the footsteps slowed down and finally stopped.
• "We're here - open your eyes."
• I uncovered my face and looked at a huge, old castle. It reminded me of Dragan's residence and yet it was completely different... older and darker. Smoke could be seen and the entire forecourt was littered with corpses. A massacre had taken place here.
