• I paced across the living area, my steps swallowed by the lush carpet that spread from the entrance to the main room where Grayson slept. Why did he even want me on the trip in the first place? We’d been in the same hotel for two days and the entire time, the only people I had come in contact with were Alicia and room service. Yes, I hadn’t seen Grayson the entire time. If I didn’t know better, I would have assumed he was avoiding me, but then again, did I know better? Because it sure as hell felt like he was. He left before I even thought about waking up and came back in way past midnight.
