• I tossed in bed, my mind reeling with thoughts I would much rather keep buried for my sanity. His deep rumble of a laugh echoed in my head as if to torment me even further. He wasn’t even in the room yet my heart thumped against my will, just like the little traitor had during the date last night.
• “So why business ad.” A lick of interest settled in his voice, taking me by surprise. His eyes never left my face the entire time we spoke, like he was actually listening, actually interested in what I had to say. It was weird and it killed me to admit it but a part of me enjoyed it. Maybe a little too much.
