Chapter 8

• Roman easily manages to get Luca into his bed. Luca is pale and has lost a lot of blood. Roman reaches into his pocket and pulls out his cell. He scrolls down to find his sister’s number and hits the call button. He patiently waits as it rings.
• “Hello,” Reese says obviously half asleep.
• “Get your ass up and get over here,” he says angrily.
• “Roman! What the hell! Get where?” she asks.
• “Your damn boss's house. You are an idiot! How many times did you bite him?” Roman asks.
• “Oh Damn. I do not really know. It was wild. It was well never mind I am on my way,” Reese says.
• Roman makes Luca comfortable. “I got to get rid of everyone in the house. No, I am not. She can handle it when she gets here. I think I have done enough,” he says.
• Roman sits in a chair beside the bed. Luca opens one eye and looks at him. “Who are you?” he asks.
• “I am the man that just saved your life. Just hold tight Reese is on her way,” Roman says.
• Luca doesn’t argue with Roman. He lays back in the bed and goes straight back to sleep. “Don’t die, dude. She is on her way,” he says softly.
• Reese hustles to pull herself together. She pulls her hair up and grabs the first piece of clothing close to her. “Fuck! What have I done?” she shouts.
• She grabs her purse and keys to the car. She runs out of her apartment before she realizes she isn’t even wearing shoes. “FUCK FUCK FUCK!” she shouts.
• She unlocks her door and runs back in barefooted. She scrambles for some shoes. “I have got to get this place in order,” she says.
• She grabs her flip flops and throws them on the floor. She slides into the flops and goes back out her door. Reese runs to the parking garage. “Where did they park the damn car?” she shouts.
• She looks around. She hits the beeper on her car keeps and waits to hear the horn. She finally hears it and takes off running toward the sound. “Ugh, What the fuck was I thinking? I should not have been biting him! I must have been out of my damn mind! And Roman Damn Roman! He will never ever ever let me live this down! Wait! Why the hell is he over there?” She screams at herself as she is getting into her car.
• Reese cranks her car and takes off like a bat out of hell! She speeds through the parking garage and blows through the stop sign at the exit. “This is such bullshit!” she screams.
• “Why am I screaming at myself,” she screams.
• She hits the assistant button on the screen. “Call Roman!” she shouts.
• The phone begins to ring as Reese races across town.
• “Where are you?” Roman answers the phone.
• “I will be there in ten damn minutes Roman. Is he okay?” Reese asks.
• “Maybe. I don’t know. I am not a doctor,” Roman says with a snicker.
• “This is not the time to be an asshole Roman,” Reese demands.
• “Hey, Reese. I am not the one that decided to bite someone however many times you bit into him. What the hell were you thinking?” Roman says.
• “I know! I know! Cut me some slack. It had been a while with a human,” she says.
• “Just hurry up. Hey! And get rid of everyone here. We do not need all these nosey people here while he recovers,” Roman says.
• “I know I know I will be there in five,” Reese says.
• Reese speeds to get to Luca’s house. She finally reaches the gates community. The security guard stops her.
• “Who are you here for miss?” the frumpy security guard asks.
• “Luca Myles. I am his PA,” Reese says.
• The frumpy man waves her on through. She rushes down the street trying to find him. She knows he lives on Royal but she is not exactly sure which house.
• As Reese goes around Bier street she sees the only house on Royal. It is huge. “That has got to be it,” she says.
• Reese turns into the blacktop driveway. She speeds to around the circle drive to the front door. She jumps out and runs right in the front door.
• “I need all staff out here. Right NOW!” she screams.
• It only takes a few seconds for the few morning staff members to come running out.
• “Hey, Guys. I am Reese. I am Mr. Myles new PA. I know we have not met yet and this is not a great way to meet. Mr. Myles called this morning. He has come down with something and wants all staff to take the day off. So collect your things and go home with pay for the day,” she says calmly.
• Reese waits downstairs as the staff members leave. As soon as the last one is out the door she locks it and runs upstairs.
• “Roman!” she yells.
• “Down here,” He yells back.
• Reese runs down the hall and opens the bedroom door. Luca is lying in the bed. He looks pale. Roman is sitting in a chair across the room.
• “You better hurry sis,” Roman says.
• Reese goes over to the bed. She takes one of her long nails and slices her wrist. She places her wrist in Luca’s mouth. “Drink up,” she says softly.
• Luca is in a delusional state but does as she says. He drinks from her for few moments. Reese takes her wrist back. “You will be fine by tomorrow,” she says.
• “Unless you bite him again,” Roman says.
• “Why were you even here, Roman?” Reese asks.
• “Aren’t you glad I was, little sister?” Roman responds.
• “Yeah! Now get!” she says.
• Reese slips off her flip flops and crawls into bed beside Luca. “How in the hell am I going to explain this to him when he wakes up?” she says.
• Reese cuddles up next to Luca and falls asleep.
