Chapter 2

• Reese is up at 630 a.m. She wants to have plenty of time to eat and dress before Ali arrives to pick her up. She can’t believe how lucky she is to have landed a job at the Butterfly building working for Luca Myles. Luca Myles is not only good-looking, but he is intelligent and well mannered, she thought. “And Hot!” she said out loud.
• She stood in her walk-in closet wrapped in a towel. “What should I wear,” she says. She wanted to make sure she didn’t violate the dress code on her first day. She runs her hand across several tops, looking for something that isn’t too revealing. She finally settles on a dark blue top, black dress pants, and a black fitted jacket.
• “Shoes?” she says. “My black heels, of course.” Reese lays everything out on the bed and hurries back to the bathroom. She grabs her lavender lotions and drops her towel. She massages every inch of her body with her favorite cream. She quickly applies makeup and pins her long dark hair into a bun.
• Reese runs to the kitchen to grab a quick bite before applying lipstick and slipping on her clothes. “Beet smoothie with a little O positive,” she says, “the breakfast of champions.”
• After Reese is dressed, she takes a look in her long mirror. “hmm. You are one hot bitch!” she says. She grabs her purse and the file with all her new hire paperwork and scrambles out the door.
• When Reese gets to the outside of her building, a black sports car is waiting for her. She wondered if Ali was driving this flashy car. The window rolls down.
• “Get in, and You are late,” he says.
• She didn’t even realize it was Luca until she jumped in the car. “Mr.Myles, I thought Ali was picking me up at 745?” she says.
• “Change of plans. We have a lot to do today, and I need you with me. You can put your things in the back seat. There is a briefcase with everything you will need to do your job.” Luca says.
• Reese looks in the back. She places her new hire folder in the backseat and grabs the briefcase. “Go ahead, open it and make sure Ali didn’t forget anything,” Luca says.
• Reese opens the briefcase and starts to fumble through it. One cell phone, credit card, keys, parking pass, and badge. “Where are we headed, Mr.Myles?” Reese asks.
• “Do you really not know what Butterfly is?” Luca asks.
• “No sir, I am sorry to say, but I do not,” Reese responds.
• “I hope you are open-minded. I would hate for you to quit on the first day,” he says.
• “I am sure I can handle it. Unless you murder people or deal drugs,” she said with a laugh.
• “No, we do not do that, but Buttery is a very successful company. We deal with a few things. My family has several offices that are separate from my business,” he says.
• Reese was beginning to get a little uncomfortable, but not from the conversation. Luca was driving like a madman.
• “Mr.Myles, your driving is making me anxious,” she says.
• “Sorry, I will slow down. I don’t usually have someone in the car with me. My assistant usually drives their car. Which is being delivered to your apartment today, unless you quit,” he says.
• The two arrive at a building a few blocks from the Butterfly. “First stop and try not to freak out, please,” he says.
• Luca wanted her to work for him. She would be his first female assistant. This could get interesting. It would be nice to have a young woman on the team instead of some cocky asshole who just wanted the job to look at hot girls all day. He needed another set of eyes and a woman’s opinion.
• “Remember, keep an open mind, please,” Luca says.
