  • Gala remained surprisingly calm, even as he dealt with a very drunk Selena. Her words were slurred beyond reason, her ramblings laced with bitterness—especially when she started ranting about her job, which Gala couldn’t make heads or tails of. His head was beginning to pound. If he responded, she lashed out. If he stayed quiet, she hit him. Frankly, it was exhausting.
