• I can still hear the sirens ringing in my ear. The sound of the paramedics trying to stop Abigail from bleeding. The looks in their eyes that held the heavy weight of disgust. All except Emmette gave me that look till we got to the hospital. They rolled out a stretcher, plopped Abigail on it and whisked her away to the emergency unit.
• I was freezing and suddenly felt the dryness of Abigail's blood on me. I looked like a murderer and based on the scene I was waiting for the cops to walk up to me, cuff me and take me to jail.
