Chapter 15 Black Card
- I raised my glass absent-mindedly, the clinking of glasses filling the room like a distant echo. My hand lingered in the air, my eyes fixed on the table as my mind raced. Twenty million dollars. Where on earth was I supposed to get that kind of money?
- "Ridiculous," I muttered, suddenly snapping out of my thoughts. My eyes flickered to Devon and the Benjamins, who were now giving me curious, awkward stares. I chuckled lightly, reclining back into my seat as I raised my glass again and emptied it in one quick motion.
- Kathy reached for the wine bottle, a knowing smile curling on her lips. She gestured for me to pass my glass, pouring me another generous helping.
