Chapter 87 Ease His Pain

• Ryan and Alistair hung around the house, keeping Dallin company. Usually, one of them would be there, but today they both stuck around for reasons they couldn't quite put their finger on. Dallin was unusually quiet and distant, avoiding conversation with his elders.
• They didn't pester the young man throughout the day, letting him be. As the evening rolled in, a gentle breeze brushed against Dallin's soft cheeks, and he looked up to admire the sky, painted with shades of orange, yellow, and soothing blue. Lost in thought, he was jolted back to reality by the sight of a teacup placed before him. Alistair had taken the trouble to bring it over.
• "Take a sip of tea. It might lift your spirits," Alistair suggested, holding out the cup, but Dallin didn't reach for it. A sigh escaped Alistair's lips as he settled down beside Dallin, insisting that he have some tea by gently pressing the cup into his hand.
