Chapter 4

  • Finja Longarm
  • After hours of looking at dresses, recommendations and a quick bite to eat I was finally ready to go home. In four hours we were expected to be at the castle, dressed, with war paint on my face with a smile for everyone to witness.
  • Before we did anything we all grabbed something light to eat. We bathed, blow dried our hair and put our dresses on.
  • My sisters had already been in the dresses that my mother had bought them a long time ago. Each of the dresses had an ombre colour, Nelle was blue and black, Zehna was red and black and Alore was green and black. The sleeves were long tulle with golden lace decoration. The bust of the dress was tight fitting while the rest had a wide flow reaching the floor. The second I looked at the hairstyle they had I had informed my stepmother that I wanted the same as my sisters. The make up as well!
  • My stepmother was doing my hair in a traditional Erolzwald style. She started off brushing my hair, parting it down the centre. On the left side of my head, my stepmother did a lace braid. Repeating her actions on the other side of my head. The remaining of my hair was parted to make six individual braids. Taking two of the individual braids she laced over the six normal braids at the back of my head. Fastening the braids together in two groups. With the remaining four braids my stepmother started to weave my hair. Fascinating the braids together with a gold clasp, six inches from the end of my hair. She then removed the small hair ties, unravelling the hair so that it would be straight. Gently she motioned her fingers through the strands of my hair.
  • I had chosen a long orange dress made of the finest silk that Erolzwald had. When I tried it on, it was comfortable to move around in. Making it appear that I was elegant and most of all modest. My favourite part was that I would blend in with the crowd, making it so that I would not be as noticeable as my two best female friends along with my sisters.
  • The style was laced up with flare sleeves, a high waist, and floor length. On the front and back of the dress, there is gold lacing up which could be adjusted to fit my figure. With a long skirt combined style Jezebel and Ire were convinced I would be the talk of the night.
  • Around my neck was placed a simple gold chain with an Opal teardrop pendant, gifted to me by my great great grandmother when I had been born. My father had given it to me once I had my sixteenth birthday. She might have died when I was a few months old, but my father tells me enough stories about her that her memories live on in my mind.
  • Because of my height, I decided that flat sandals would be best for this event. Jezebel made a huge stink over my decision of foot wear. Until I pointed out that no one would see my feet due to the length of the dress.
  • Jezebel and Ire decided to choose the same dress style but in different colours. Jezebel went with the colour coral while Ire fell in love with the colour cyan.
  • The fabric had been lightweight and soft to the touch. The elegant style was off the shoulder, with sleeves that reached the wrists. The length of fabric reached their ankles with a high split to the hip, showing off the length of their left leg when they took a step.
  • Jezebel decided to leave her golden shoulder length hair down. The crown she chose to wear was her crystal green tiara. It was small but elegant, perfect for the future Queen of Erolzwald. The elaborate gold design matched her dress and really suited her well.
  • Ire had placed three individual braids in her hair. One on each side with another one in the centre of her head. Fastened together at the back of her head with a black wolf claw clasp. The remainder of her brown hair freely laid loose with spiral clasps holding the braids. She wanted everyone to fixate on the dress and her makeup versus her simple yet elegant hairstyle.
  • I asked for my stepmother to design my makeup in more of a neutral colour. Unlike my friends, sisters and other females of Erolzwald, I wanted to make sure I was respectable and modest. While the others choose to be elaborate and flashy. I had nothing against such displays, it was not my style nor my personality.
  • Keeping the colours more to autumn and earth tones, Jezebel and Ire finished off with plenty of expensive jewellery and blues and greens colours decorating their face with complex detail artwork.
  • Three and half hours later we were ready for tonight's event. With only 30 minutes left before we are expected at the castle.
  • Getting to the ballroom, it was easy to tell the different groups apart. The Unnash all had forest green long robes that reached their knees with silver satin shirts with gorgeous sleeves, plus a black belt. Their pants all matched their shirts in colour. With boots that reached close to their knees. The major transformation from their deer hides clothing from before. I also could not help but notice how each of them had shaved off the facial hair that each of them had when they first arrived. The only thing that had not changed was their hairstyle. Each of them had a single braid at each side of their head with the rest of their hair free falling. The fascinating part about this group was that many of the males had black onyx hair, it reminded me of my family trait, the black raven hair.
  • Jezebel's father, Alpha Bluff, was here with his wife Asseme. Each of them was dressed in their traditional colours of blues and greens. The females had elaborate designs of water waves painted on their faces. Each wife had their hair done up in fancy styles that I could only see high society taking the time to get done. The majority of their jewellery consists of silver and pearls, some also add diamonds to the artwork they wear. The closest to fancy that the males came to was a gold belt, cuffs for buttons and buckles on their boots. Similar to the Unnash in hair style, the males of Dolasea continued the same fashion.
  • The Alpha King's allies decorated themselves in the finest of silks. Making sure that everyone in the ballroom knew who they were. Those that came with the Alpha king of Burha, Silvertooth, went with their family colours of red, yellow and bronze. Reacher, the Alpha of Azgar, their family colour had been royal blue and silver. The Alpha of Bazzu, Erzon, was similar to the Azgar but the blue was lighter and instead of silver they used copper to mix with their family colours. The family colours of Galata were platinum and white, Levan, the Alpha of Unzarar made sure that the females had been decorated with the latest trend of emeralds and rubies. Galata’s Alpha was the brother of our Alpha King. Keeping to his traditional colours Alpha Renrit dressed himself in red and gold.
  • The minor leaders dressed themselves respectfully. The majority of them stick with earth colours. What I found interesting were the tattoos the males had on the left side of their faces. This is what distinguished them from other clans.
  • When it came to seating arrangements for dining, the Alpha King made sure that all of his supporters were situated near him while those whom he thought were insignificant, he placed them at the other end of the room.
  • In the grand location, over thirty tables had been set up, each table sitting eight individuals. In the centre of the tables was placed a vase with an assortment of flowers. The table cloth was red with gold embroidering of the crown sigil.
