Chapter 24

  • The Yadah desert, plain boring with little excitement. The Longarm family have finally calmed down on their excitement of the whole trip. Alore and Amuse had spent a great deal of their time looking outside the windows. Still find the odd thing interesting but even they spend less time glaring out the window as the scenery speeds by. It took us seven days to get here, with another four more days to go until we reached Dorasea.
  • I glared at Finja as she sat in her seat, occasionally glancing up to make sure her daughter was still sitting with Ace reading her book. Typing away on her processor, she said she was working on a project that she had started a while back, that she had not finished since she had been so busy. The older Longarm sisters sat in the common area as well, chatting among themselves as they worked on their embroidery crafts. It looked to me as if they were all working on something that involved flowers and vines. Mrs. Longarm was in her cabin, still not really socializing. She was not rude, answering questions as they came. We all understood she was still in mourning.
