Chapter 76 New Year Party (Two)

• Later that night, she was at the party with Sandra and the people that she had invited to come over for the party. Dan was nowhere to be found, as he was still held up at the hospital and couldn’t make it down yet. Sandra and Becca mingled in the crowd, which was bigger than Becca had thought it would be. Apparently, Sandra and Dan had a lot of friends, but apart from that, some of their neighbors had come to the party. It was a new year, after all.
• “You know. Dan seems to be working more than usual these days. When I newly moved here, I used to think that he was jobless. He was always outside watering the plants and waiting to hit on me.” Becca observed amusedly.
• “Nah. He’s a workaholic and has always been, plus he loves his work a lot. He was on his annual leave the time you were talking about, and maybe you just saw him sometimes when he was off work.” Sandra told her, but Becca was no longer listening. Instead, she was staring at a woman on the other side of the room, who was sipping from a flute of champagne and was socializing.
