Chapter 49 Homecoming (Two)

• Ryan, with Taylor still in his arms, rushed over to the crib alongside Margie to check on the baby in it and was gratified to see that he was alright, although he was quite pissed. His mouth was wide open, with loud cries of rage emanating from it, and his eyes were scrunched shut, with tears seeping out from beneath his lids. Angela smiled at Ryan sheepishly, her cheeks flaming red. She all but ignored Margie, who was glaring daggers at her and trying to comfort a still screaming Tyler.
• “Oops, I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to waken or frighten her.” Angela said, coming over to where Ryan was standing and holding Taylor, who was looking like she was about to sympathize with her brother by joining in his cry. Ryan was shuffling from foot to foot and trying to placate the baby, and as Angela approached, he backed away from her warily.
