Chapter 8 Wall Of Ice

  • EIRA’S POV
  • It was afternoon when I woke up. I could feel strong arms hugging my body. Tears were formed in the corner of my eyes until I burst out sobbing silently. He knew it from the moment he owned me, but if he loved me, he would not leave me just because I was not pure. I touched his cheek as the tears continued to crawl to my face.
  • I rolled the white blanket in my body and walked to the balcony. I touched the wooden railing, closed my eyes, inhaled, and exhaled, stopping my cry. When I was fine, I breathe in and out again. As I opened my eyes, a smile was established on my lips. At least, I could now remember Rayk in bed, making love with him, not that scary night.
  • I gazed around, viewing the greenish leaves of the trees, seeing the birds flying around while hearing their humming. The sky was yellow-orange in color, relaxing my system. When the reflection of the sunlight reflected on my face, I shut my eyes for a second. The images in my head filled my chest with gladness. It was me and Rayk, laughing, hugging, cuddling after a steamy moment.
  • I looked up at the sky. Its beauty was incomparable. “Mom…” I whispered. “I wish you’re happy there.”
  • “She will.”
  • I looked back, Rayk had messy hair, and his smile was broad as he walked toward me. He hugged me from my back and rested his chin on my shoulder. “She will.” He repeated. “Because you finally set your head free from those nightmares.”
  • I shut my eyes. I held the railings tightly. “That’s not a nightmare…” I bit my lips and held his hands on my belly. “It happened.”
  • I was waiting for Rayk to be surprised or disgusted with me. I have never seen those guesses in his expression.
  • “I’m not pure and clean.” I started to sob. His hug to my body tightened. “I’m sorry. You’re not my first.”
  • “It doesn’t matter.”
  • I froze. The tears halted moving down my face when I stared at him. His embrace of me tightened even more. “So what if your past is worst? My love for you won’t change.”
  • “But…” I turned around to face him. “It changes me.”
  • “It won’t change us and that’s more important. You…” He cupped my cheeks. “And me. Our relationship. Our love.” He wiped my tears using his thumbs. “I. Love. You.”
  • Those words being emphasized were like music to my ears. I buried my face in his chest and embraced him so compactly. “I love you.”
  • *****
  • “Where have you been? King Ice is looking for you.”
  • I rolled my eyes when I saw Finn in the hallway. Actually, I was about to go to King Ice’s chamber because of my working time. “My day is ruined.”
  • “Don’t ruin me, Omega. You have duties.”
  • “Great. Where is he?”
  • “At the garden. Down the river.”
  • I followed him outside the Elemental Kingdom. After a few moments, we reached the garden and Fiin said he would have his leave due to some tasks that were given to him by his beloved king.
  • King Ice was picking yellow flowers. He had a wide handsome smile on his lips. Even though he was good-looking, he could not change the fact that there was a monster inside him. When he gazed in my direction, the smile on his lips did not fade.
  • “Eira, come. Join me to pick flowers.”
  • “Is that a command?” The tone of my speech was rude and boastful.
  • “If that’s not a command, will you follow me?”
  • How could he say those words with a friendly smile on his emotion in spite of me disrespecting him? What a master in acting.
  • I did not respond to him. I just grasped the stem of the sun flowers and recklessly picked it up.
  • “Eira…” He moved a little, but a distance between us. “You must be careful in getting the flowers. Don’t you know that it’s hard to build flowers of plants?” He even lectured me on how to cut the stem gently. “Don’t destroy the flowers. This will be my model in my painting.”
  • Painting? He knows how to do that? Well, I don’t give a fuck about his hobbies.
  • “I met your sister yesterday.”
  • My head moved up. In an instant, the madness was formed into my system. “Don’t you dare to hurt her!”
  • “Easy.” His smile was making my blood boil even more. “I have no plan. I just want to be friends with her.”
  • I sealed my mouth. I found it boring to be with him. He was too dull a person even his voice was like singing a lullaby, too gentle and low. “Later, you’ll accompany me to my chamber. I need your advice for my painting.”
  • “Being with you is like suicidal,” I whispered, just enough to be heard by myself, but unfortunately he heard me. I forgot that he had wolf ears.
  • “I tried my very best to be friends with you."
  • "I don't wanna be friends with you even if you're the most powerful king." I held another sunflower and was about to cut it from its stem when I saw a bunch of Sugar Gliders! A group of a tribe who attack anyone they see. I automatically grabbed King Ice's hand and said, "Run!"
  • At first, his only worry was the flowers, eventually he realized that we were being chased by strangers. He stopped for a second. He lifted his palm in the air and clicked his thumb and middle finger. The shock ran throughout my system when in just a blink of an eye, the ice of the wall scattered around, masking us.
  • "Hurry." He was supposed to be panicking, but he sounded unbothered. He did not hold my hand, just ordering me to follow him. I remembered what he said last time, he would not touch me unless I gave him permission.
  • Is this a big joke? I started to believe that he is not the man in the woods. Then, who is he?
  • While running, I gazed again at his creation. He created a big wall of ice to prevent the Sugar Gliders from catching us. He is the Alpha King of Ice. I know he is.
  • But… Why is this man different from that monster?
