Chapter 4 First Love

  • COLDEN’S POV
  • “Please! Have pity on me! Please…”
  • “You’ll regret this!”
  • “I’ll come back and rip every part of you!”
  • “You, Monster!”
  • “Ahh! Die! Die! Die!”
  • I gasped for air as I sat on my bed. I gazed side by side to cheek my chains. The sweats were all over my face. Nights were peaceful to others, but for me, I was like in hell, chasing something, invading someone, getting my desire. I was aware that those nightmares were not nightmares anymore. It happened in reality.
  • I checked the chains captivating my both wrists and feet. This was my night routine when I was sleeping. Any of my brothers would chain me before I go to sleep. I looked at the ceiling. Most of the nights, I could hear different voices in my dream. Tonight, I heard only one voice. I could not recognize her. Whoever she was, I was truly sincerely apologizing.
  • “Can’t sleep again?”
  • I looked down. Pyro was there, leaning his shoulder to the side of the door. My brothers and Finn had the key to my room in case of needing emergency. At times, I felt I was a burden to all of them. If only I could control my monster, I would never bother any of them.
  • Pyro sat on the chair beside my bed. “Do you want me to remove the chains?”
  • “No. I’m okay.” Even though I had bruises in that parts and my back was painful. I settled my eyes on the ceiling again. “Pyro, I’ve encountered an omega. She was so mad at me.” I paused and grabbed plenty of air and held it to my lungs. “Do you… think I did bad to her?”
  • Pyro, as usual, would not say the truth to me because if I felt I was the worst alpha, everything went into chaos. When I was mad, I cloud not control it, so my voice was always moderate. I knew my brothers were hiding how bad I was when my monster was visible.
  • “You won’t chain yourself in there if you're a bad king.” King Fire never talked to anyone with long lines, only to me.
  • “You didn’t answer my question.”
  • I did not hear Pyro’s response for a long second until I heard a moving chair backward. He stood up and gazed at me directly. “If you look at yourself as good. You can be good.” He walked away from me. “Good night, Colden.”
  • “There’s no good in my nights.”
  • *****
  • “Your Majesty.” Finn lowered his head to me when he moved inside my chamber. I gazed at the flowers on my side table.
  • “Did your gather her details?”
  • He nodded his head to me. “Yes, Your Majesty.”
  • I scoffed in a little annoyance. “How many times do I need to tell you to call me Colden?”
  • “Colden…” He smiled at me. Actually, Finn was like a brother to me. We grew together.
  • I tapped the chair next to me, gesturing for him to sit there, so he did. “Please tell me what you’ve got.”
  • “Her name is Eira Hayes, first born daughter of Eyrom and Fey. Her mother died two months ago. She has one sister named Fira. They were born with lower rank omega.”
  • I flipped my lower lip and played with it with my forefinger. “Where the section is she working?”
  • “Laundry, King一Colden.”
  • “Laundry?” I clicked my tongue as I played with it. “Tell the Omega’s Leader to assign her to me.”
  • “Pardon?” The surprise was written on his face.
  • “You heard me, Finn.” I gazed at the flowers again. “And bring these flowers to her. Don’t tell her it comes from me.”
  • I rested my stare on him when he did not move. As I observed his expression, he would like to speak. “What is that, Finn? Any words in your mind?”
  • He scratched his nape, hesitating to speak up.
  • “It’s fine. Tell me.” I showed him my friendly expression, so he would not doubt to burst what was in his mind.
  • “Your cheek is still red. I just worried if she knows about her new resignation area, she probably… punch you or slap you again?” He scratched his forehead this time.
  • “I’ll let her,” I revealed my full smile. “You know why.”
  • “But… she can’t do that to you. She’s just an omega一”
  • “There’s no such thing as just. Everyone is equal in my eyes.”
  • “Apologies, King Ice.”
  • I was tired of correcting him, so I let him call me that way. “Don’t forget my orders.” I gave him my friendly stare.
  • I can’t wait to meet Eira more.
  • I went out of my chambers for training. I was lucky that my father was not here at the Elemental Kingdom today. I escaped while my brothers were battling, and practicing. I went down the river with a grin ear by ear. I jumped so high. In the mid-air, gradually, my skin grew a white brown fur, my nails became claws and my eyes became blue. When my feet stomped on the soil, I was already a wolf. I felt sooting. I could go around the woods without minding the guards.
  • Like where I used to go, I went to the Sea Of Flowers. I was not gay or what. I just loved to see the various flowers. This is where I picked the flowers that I gave to Eira. Hope she likes that. This time, I would gather again for Zarya.
  • Zarya is my secret love, but she did not know. His father, Zakan, had an agreement with me that if Zarya turned eighteen, she will marry me. Zakan is the Great Beta of the kingdom, so my father would probably like the idea of me marrying his first-born daughter. Zarya celebrated her eighteen birthday last week. They were in the Human World. They chose to be there for four years now. Hopefully, Zakan would not forget his promise to me.
  • When I went back to the Elemental Kingdom, my brothers were hanging their shoulders. Even the cheerful Zephyrus. They seemed to have a big problem. I went to Pyro with my flowers in my hand. “What’s happening?”
  • He shook his head. In his normal state, I would find no answers, therefore Raiden responded to me. “Zakan’s family massacred last night.”
  • I unintentionally fell the flowers. It scattered to the ground. “Is anyone survive?” I forced myself to calm down. I did not want to see the Ice Monster. “Where is Zarya? Don’t tell me…”
  • “She’s at King Water’s chamber.”
  • My mouth moved open. “You're not kidding me, right?” I was expecting Raiden to say yes.
  • “He’s not,” Hali answered me.
  • My gaze rested on him. I closed my fists, trying to be relaxed. I would not be mad. I swear. “Do you… take advantage of her?” My voice cracked.
  • Hali looked away. My heart was like glass when it broke into small pieces. According to Hali’s facial expression. He fucked her last night. He grabbed the opportunity to take her to the bed. I knew him as an asshole who would own women. He was just playing around, his heart was never involved in that. A legendary playboy.
  • Don’t be mad, Colden. Don’t.
  • “You can take any women you want. Not Zarya.” I pulled all my temper together. As long as I was not raising my voice, it means I still holding my anger. “How can you not pity her? Her family died and yet you killed her doubled.” I turned my back and marched away from Hali.
  • He has no idea how much I love her. She is my mate, my first love, my one, and only dream.
