• It was sun down when finally I sighted King Ice. I hurried walking and went to his chamber. He looked so tired and devastated. “I need a rest, Eira. Kindly don’t disturb me.” He threw himself on the bed with his front body lying, closing his eyes and a second later he was now sleeping.
• My body weakened with hopelessness. Fine, I would not disturb him, but I would wait for him to wake up. I sat on the couch while my thighs were crossed. I could not imagine myself doing this to please him. Or doing this to any royals.
