• It was our last day in that paradise. As soon as the dim light of dawn touched my eyes, reality struck me squarely. I turned over in bed, searching for Salvatore, but, as always, he was gone.
• Slowly, I sat up and looked around. The tangled sheets were the only evidence of the nights we had shared. I slept naked because the passion between us had obliterated any need for clothing. Wrapping myself in a robe, I stepped out to look for him.
