Chapter 19

I shook my head when I saw him. Couldn't he have a moment of privacy? I had no idea how I had managed to open the door. I took a couple of steps back and crossed my arms, feeling the irritation grow in me.
"Hopefully someday you'll learn the meaning of 'knock before you enter,'" I blurted out disdainfully.
Salvatore approached slowly, slamming the door shut behind him. His gray eyes, bright and fixed on me, made me more and more nervous, almost as if his mere presence overwhelmed me. I took a couple more steps back, trying to escape his proximity, even though I knew it was useless.
