• We both jerked apart guiltily. It was so obvious that when Lucas came in, he knew that we’d been kissing. Or he didn’t know. I wasn’t sure. The point was, he was fairly certain that we were doing something suspicious because we pushed away from each other too fast. That would arouse suspicion in anyone, and that was the look I especially did not want to see on Lucas’ face. I really, really hated being in situations like these. How many more times do I have to get caught in these situations with Alexander before I actually learn my lesson?!
