Chapter 6 Dustin's Marriage Proposal

  • Sebastian's encounter with Sandy and Mandy at the gate surprised them. He looked around at the ladies dressed in branded tracksuits and ponytails with flushed cheeks from running. They appear to have the same morning run routine as I do.
  • Meanwhile, the ladies were stunned to see him at the gate of the prestigious Rithfield manor. Still, they quickly came to terms with the situation.
  • Sebastian came from a wealthy family and used to live in the manor. Everything has changed since he began to live in poverty. He may have even come to reminisce about his past because he misses his old home.
  • When Dominic came to pick him up yesterday, the ladies didn't hear what he said clearly. They saw him dressed in a high-ranking military uniform, driving a military jeep, and that he could be a militia leader.
  • "Sandy, have you heard the rumors? Sebastian has purchased the manor," Mandy said as she gazed in awe at the luxurious manor.
  • "Hmm." She gave a slight nod.
  • Sandy felt sorry for him as she scrutinized his shoddy attire, but she did not wish to rub salt in his wound. She had known his name was Stuart for ten years but had no idea he was the renowned Sebastian Baker.
  • "Sebastian Baker is wealthy, and rumor has it that he is young. I'm curious as to what he looks like." Mandy sighed.
  • "All right, let's stop talking about him." Sandy strayed from the subject.
  • Sandy and Sebastian hadn't seen each other in ten years, but they still had feelings for each other. Due to their chance encounter, she lost the desire to run, and he began to stroll along the manor's mountain path.
  • She was a typically quiet person, and he never had a way with words, so the stroll was quiet. When they reached the bottom of the hill, she paused for a moment before asking, "Would you like to come over to my place for a while?"
  • "Sure." He nodded.
  • Sebastian's return to Soviani had two major goals: vengeance and repaying kindness. Yesterday, he witnessed how the Evans Family coerced Sandy into a marriage against her will. He knew how bad her life had been in recent years, which fueled his determination to propose to her. However, given how long they had not seen each other, their relationship fizzled. As a result, he reasoned that he needed to interact with her more to make things right.
  • "Is your birthday the day after tomorrow, Sandy?" he inquired.
  • "Yeah." Sandy smiled brightly.
  • He gave a light nod as he had already bought a ring for the marriage proposal, but had left it at home. The day after tomorrow will be an excellent opportunity to propose to her.
  • When they arrived at Evans Residence, they noticed Dustin standing at the gate.
  • "Did you manage to pull off the deal with Montes Group, Dustin?" Mandy, the innocent and straightforward girl, inquired with a big smile.
  • "Don't get me started. Sebastian Baker must be insane! He dismissed Griffin's former employees as soon as he acquired Montes Group. My family is not close with Griffin, but for some unknown reason, the deal has been canceled! My father is at the end of his rope," Dustin recounted the incident with rage.
  • "Huh?" She looked at him with her mouth agape.
  • "Let's go inside because we need to come up with a good plan." He entered the Evans Residence.
  • Charlotte was doing yoga in the living room when they came in. Her stunning physique was highlighted by the tight clothing she was wearing.
  • "Charlotte, the collaboration with Montes Group has failed." He pulled a long face.
  • "What?" She became agitated and stood up in the middle of a yoga session.
  • "All of this is due to Sebastian Baker, that fool! Smith Family has been working for Montes Group for over ten years, and we have always completed our tasks with diligence and professionalism. I'm not sure what happened, but Noah called us yesterday to tell us that we're no longer needed. Sigh. Our company has just begun to expand, and we spent nearly twenty million on new facilities. Right now, things aren't looking good for us."
  • "If things are tough for the Smiths, then what about the Evans Family?" Charlotte questioned.
  • "Charlotte, don't worry. There is another way to collaborate with Montes Group," Dustin stated.
  • While they were talking, Sebastian stood off to the side and watched everything in silence. He wasn't a bad person; he handled things fairly and objectively. Noah had previously mocked him for Griffin's sake, but she was not the woman Griffin adored. Consequently, he retained her after acquiring Montes Group.
  • Sebastian assumed the Smith Family to be Griffin's subordinates; therefore, if Griffin was dismissed, so must his subordinates. Consequently, he terminated the deal with the Smiths. He had no idea Dustin's boasting about the Smith Family the day before had nothing to do with Griffin. Instead, they took their responsibilities seriously by contributing to the Montes Group.
  • He was okay with using Dustin again if it meant he could get the Smith Family to help him rebuild the business his parents had started. Even though Dustin was his love rival and was pursuing Sandy, Sebastian was confident; to him, Dustin was a small fry.
  • "My sources indicate that Sebastian Baker, the new president of Montes Group, is a young man in his twenties." Dustin sat on the sofa and continued, "If my guess is correct, he must be a naive young master from a wealthy family. It is easy to bring down someone like this. My father will prepare an expensive gift for the higher-ups in Montes Group to persuade him. Charlotte, if you do what I say, we may be able to get the contract with them."
  • "What should we do?" Charlotte questioned.
  • "Let Sandy meet Sebastian in person," he said.
  • Sandy, Mandy, and Charlotte were all surprised by his suggestion.
  • "Don't forget that Sandy is also quite beautiful." As his gaze became ambiguous, he pursed his lips into a smile.
  • Dustin was smart, and so was Charlotte. Smart people could comprehend his meaning without much elaboration. She focused her attention on Sandy.
  • Meanwhile, Sandy had just returned from a morning run, dressed in a tracksuit with her hair tied into a ponytail. Above her slim yet voluptuous body were her innocent and beautiful features. She truly deserved to be named Soviani's most beautiful girl.
  • Old Madam Evans preferred boys over girls, which explains why she resented Wyatt Evans' three daughters and favored his elder and second brothers' sons. She had no idea how easy it is for a beautiful woman to solve a problem.
  • Sandy will get the contract if she meets with the so-called Sebastian, allowing her to show off her beauty and say some nice things in her sweet voice.
  • "That isn't a bad idea." Charlotte grinned.
  • "Charlotte, owing a favor is the most convenient way to work with a large corporation like Montes Group. Sandy is beautiful. She can get any cooperation she wants as long as she dresses up and meets Sebastian." Dustin's face lit up with a sinister grin.
  • "You're right." She nodded slightly.
  • "If I can help you get the contract from Montes Group, Sandy and I will..." He glanced furtively at Sandy.
  • "I'll think about it," Charlotte replied.
  • "There's no need for that. Allow me to take Sandy's hand in mine!" Dustin suddenly fished out a dazzling ring in a neat suit and kneeled on the ground.
