Chapter 14 To Catch a Glimpse

  • Soviani was a relatively peaceful country, which made Sebastian let his guard down upon returning. Ever since he came back, his bloodlust was reined in and he became a lot calmer.
  • Undeniably, he was an invincible figure and nobody could practically threaten him anymore, so he was not as alert as before.
  • With the impression of Dominic being a kind man, he never thought that he would make a move against him. As such, he was left completely defenseless before being punted into the distance.
  • Clearly, Dominic had great strength as it was evident when Sebastian looked at his scraped palms. Finding himself covered in dust, he looked at Dominic with fury in his eyes.
  • "Are you okay?" Dominic was completely unexpected that Sebastian would get hurt as he asked in shock.
  • With cold eyes, Sebastian stared at him coldly while trying to control his anger. Unresponsive, he stood up and patted his body before heading into his villa.
  • "Why didn't you avoid my kick?" Dominic chased after him.
  • The man stayed silent.
  • "Buddy, you're my superior. Aren't you a tiny bit angry that I hit you?" asked Dominic.
  • Still not wanting to speak to him, Sebastian continued to walk coldly toward the villa.
  • "Are you ignoring me on purpose?" He grabbed onto Sebastian's arm.
  • "Have you had enough?" Sebastian frowned and shook his hand off.
  • No matter how good he was at martial arts, Sebastian still had a body made out of flesh. He could not block bullets or cannons and his hands would still bleed if it was scratched against the ground. Feeling a stinging pain from his palm, he became gradually agitated again.
  • "Why don't you fight me?" questioned Dominic.
  • "I don't wish to fight with my men," replied Sebastian.
  • "You consider me as one of your men?" Dominic was surprised.
  • "That's right. I am the head of the garrison and you are my right hand man. That makes us brothers-in-arms. You should know what that means; we take bullets for each other on the battlefield and not start meaningless fights. Other than leaving a scar or two on each other, we would gain nothing else."
  • With that, Sebastian entered the villa's bathroom before taking off his clothes and showered.
  • Even though he looked very weak and frail when he had clothes on, he revealed a well-toned body upon taking it off. With a panther-like build, he had a lot of scars on his chest and back.
  • This was the first time Dominic had ever seen Sebastian's body.
  • The sight of his body covered in knife, gun, and even artillery wounds shocked him.
  • What did this guy go through when he was living abroad?
  • With his sharp observation, he saw that Sebastian had a dragon tattoo on his forearm during his shower.
  • During Dominic's time in Divine Dragon, he had encountered a similar tattoo.
  • This is the sign of the triad abroad!
  • "Sebastian, were you a gangster?" His gaze darkened.
  • "I'm someone Archie hired, so you don't have the qualifications to inquire about my past." Sebastian finished showering before putting on a towel and walked past him.
  • "Who are you, Sebastian? I feel that you are getting more and more mysterious. Can we chat?" Dominic was intrigued about Sebastian's background, so he followed him into his room.
  • Still not speaking, Sebastian was selecting his outfit.
  • He had a pitiful amount of clothes, which consisted of the ghillie snowsuit he had when he was abroad and two sets of the garrison uniform. Since his normal sportswear was dirty, he only had a t-shirt and jeans left.
  • "My God, you're a billionaire from abroad. Aren't you living just a bit too simply? These clothes aren't even a tenth of what I have." Dominic was shocked by the state of Sebastian's closet.
  • "Stay at home. I'm going out for a jog now," Sebastian responded.
  • "Let's fight!" Dominic begged.
  • "I don't fight against my men."
  • "We can compete in other fields if you want."
  • "In other fields?" Sebastian glanced at him.
  • "We can test our wits in strategy or we can test our accuracy with guns. If you're afraid of us getting hurt in a spar, we can choose something that won't hurt us. If you win against me in any of these, I will concede to you," Dominic suggested.
  • "How boring." Sebastian walked outside the villa.
  • "If you don't spar with me today, I'll cling onto you forever!" Dominic lightly kicked the man's behind.
  • "I dare you to do it again!" Fury made an appearance in Sebastian's eyes again.
  • "Come on then. Fight me. It'll be better if you get mad. Please, hit me hard and torture me." Dominic looked very shameless.
  • Looking at his somewhat youthful face, Sebastian left without any acknowledgement.
  • Through that interaction, he had grasped what kind of person Dominic was. Even though the young man was already a battle god, he still had a naive train of thoughts.
  • Dominic, on the other hand, was oblivious of what Sebastian was truly capable of.
  • I'm not gonna fight this weakling and accidentally kill someone in the process! Count me out.
  • At the same time, a few people were standing outside the villa.
  • These people in question were Alexis, Sandy, Mandy and Rickon.
  • Sebastian's villa was halfway up the mountain with a stunning view and it was built above the four luxury villas in the city. Since Alexis and Rickon spent the night at the Evanses, they naturally wanted to breathe in the fresh air of the mountain in the morning.
  • Standing outside the villa, they saw the huge golf course inside the compound.
  • "This is so luxurious. It has been ten years already, yet the Bakers' villa is as imposing as ever. Even though Rithfield has had a lot of villas pop up throughout the years, this villa still stands at the top. It would be a dream come true if I could move into a villa like this someday!" Jeremy commented enviously.
  • "The Baker family had ten of billions of assets back then. They were the de facto richest family in Rithfield. The grounds were chosen especially by a fortune teller hired by Stuart's father. With water and a mountain surrounding it, it meant that their bloodline would always have something to rely on and their family would never fall. So, you can stop dreaming cause you will never be able to move into such a villa," Alexis rebuked.
  • "Haha. Someone to rely on? Their family will never fall? That very family has gone bankrupt with Stuart being poorer than a beggar." Jeremy smirked.
  • "The villa doesn't have an owner, right? I heard that Griffin went bankrupt and went to jail, right? Will the government reclaim the land and develop it before opening it to the public?" Alexis asked.
  • "The one living in it now is the new owner of Montes Group, Sebastian Baker," Sandy replied.
  • "The mysterious magnate, Sebastian Baker?" Alexis and Jeremy were surprised.
  • "Yup. I looked up the mountain when I was at home yesterday and saw the lights on in the villa. My dad said that Sebastian had bought it." Sandy nodded.
  • "He's so rich!" Jeremy was envious of him.
  • "The person is very mysterious. I've heard that except for President Noah of the Montes Group, the higher ups in the company have never seen him before either." Alexis smiled. "We don't even know what Sebastian looks like."
  • "He must be young, handsome, and have a noble aura." Mandy had a gaze full of admiration.
  • Young women often liked rich and handsome men, and Mandy also belonged to this category as well. Ever since Sebastian returned to Rithfield, he was like an inferno that consumed everything in his part. Within only two days, he had upheaved the whole business sphere in the city. Everybody wanted to catch a glimpse of Sebastian and a lot of women like Mandy had a crush on him.
  • Since their family had a contract with Montes Group now, she had a chance to see Sebastian as she swore secretly that she would only get married to him in this lifetime!
  • "Mandy, don't tell me that you've fallen for him? He belongs to the creme de la creme in Rithfield. He's not someone that a small family like us can covet for." Alexis felt something off and looked at her sister.
  • "I do like him." Mandy openly admitted.
  • "I wonder if Mr. Baker has the habit of sleeping in. If he got up early like us, we might have the chance to see him." Sandy smiled.
  • With that, they stood outside the villa's entrance and laughed.
  • Suddenly, they saw Sebastian, who was being pestered by Dominic, walking out of the villa with an annoyed expression.
