Chapter 4

  • As we walked through the front door my heart was racing with curiosity. I couldn't help but wonder what my new boss, Sir Anderson looked like. The anticipation was almost bearable and my mind was filled with a million questions. What kind of person was he? Would he be approachable or intimidating?
  • But as soon as Emily spotted her dad, she dashed towards him with pure excitement. I watched in awe as Emily wrapped her tiny arms around him, hugging him tightly. It was such a heartwarming sight, and I couldn't help but smile at the love between father and daughter.
  • And then, in that split second when our eyes met, my world turned upside down. My mouth fell open with shock, and my heart skipped a beat. It was as if time stood still, and everything around me faded into the background. The handsome stranger I had shared an unforgettable kiss with at the club a few weeks ago was none other than my billionaire boss, Sir Anderson!
  • As I stood there, my heart was racing. sir Anderson turned his gaze towards Mrs. Vilis, completely ignoring my presence. With a stern expression, he asked, "Who is she? His voice dripped with a mix of curiosity and suspicion.
  • I felt a knot forming in my stomach as Mrs. Vilis took a deep breath before answering, "She is the new nanny, Mr.Anderson
  • Mr. Anderson's eyes narrowed and he continued to ignore me, his attention focused solely on Mrs. Vilis. "why wasn't I informed about this? And why is she here now? "he demanded, his voice laced with frustration.
  • Summoning all my courage, I spoke up. "I apologize for the surprise, Mr. Anderson. Mrs. Vilis thought it would be best to introduce me to Emily before your return. "
  • Finally, Mr Anderson turned his gaze towards me, his eye piercing into mine. "and who are you, exactly? What makes you qualified to take care of my daughter?" he questioned his voice filled with skepticism.
  • Taking a deep breath I tried to maintain my composure. "But Daddy, I like her!" Emily said cutting me off. The room fell silent as everyone turned their attention to Emily and her brave declaration. Mr. Anderson's gaze shifted from me to his daughter, a mixture of surprise and contemplation on his face. he scanned me from head to toe, his eye lingering on me for a moment before he finally spoke."All alright, Emily. If you feel comfortable with her, I suppose we can give her a chance.
  • As Mr. Anderson gracefully whisked his daughter away, Mrs . Vilis turned to me with a mischievous glint in her eyes. "Chloe, "she said with a sly smile, "why don't you go freshen up? I will take care of the dinner. "I nodded, feeling a mix of relief and curiosity.
  • I hurriedly made my way to the bathroom, desperately to erase the trace of the embarrassing club encounter from my mind. "did he recognize me? "I whisper to myself, my mind pumping like a bass drum at a rock concert. What if he did? I could be fire on the spot!". I splashed cold water on my face, hoping it would wash away my worries.
  • As I emerged from the shower, a droplet of water still glistened on my skin, and a sense of relief washed over me. With my face buried in the softness of the bed, I let a sigh, hoping against hope that Mr. Anderson wouldn't recognize me. The consequences could be disastrous, and anxiety gripped me like a vice.
  • Summoning the courage to face the world. I stood up and began slipping into my clothes. Each movement was deliberate as if I could somehow control the outcome of the unexpected encounter. Taking a deep breath. I steadied myself and descended the steps, my heart pounding in my chest.
  • As I entered the dining area, the scene before me unfolded like a surreal tableau. There sat Mr Anderson and Emily, already engrossed in their breakfast. My eye darted to Mrs Vilis, who was gently setting the table with an air of quiet and efficiency. It seemed as if time had stood still, waiting for my next move. In that fleeting moment, I contemplated tiptoeing back to my room, hoping to evade this potentially disastrous situation. But my hopes were dashed when Emily's voice rang out piercing the silence. "come and join us, Aunt Chloe! "she exclaimed with a mischievous grin. My heart skipped a beat as I turned to face the source of an unexpected call. My gaze met mr Andersons, and in that instant, the world seemed to freeze. His eye bore into mine, unwavering, as if trying to unravel the secrets hidden beneath my facade. The intensity of the gaze sent shivers down my spine my mind racing with countless possibilities.
  • In that suspense moment, I felt a mix of fear, vulnerability, and a strange sense of anticipation. It was as if the entire room held its breath, awaiting the outcome of this unexpected encounter. Would Mr Anderson recognize me? What would he say? The weight of those unanswered questions hung heaving in the air.
  • My heart raced as I stood there, trying to hide my discomfort." hmmm, I'm not hungry, "I said. But Mrs Vilis could sense something was wrong. She came closer to me, her voice filled with worry. "are you sure you are not hungry? You barely ate something this morning. And why is your body so hot? Are you sick?"Mrs Vilis asked, concern etch on her face.
  • I mustered a weak smile, desperately trying to avoid any further questions. "just a little slight headache, I'm fine, "I replied, hoping she would believe me. But Mrs. Vilis wasn't convinced. "let me call the family doctor", she said, her voice trembling as she searched for her phone. Before Mrs . Vilis could make the call, Mr . Anderson's cold voice cut through the tension. "she said she is fine, Mrs . Vilis," he said dismissively. "Chloe, clean up the garden, I want everything neat, "he commanded, completely ignoring what Mrs. Viliss said. My eyes widen in disbelief. But sir, that's not my job, and the garden has already been taken care of, "I protested, my voice quivering with a mix of fear and frustration.
  • Mr Anderson stood up, his imposing figure looming over me. I stammered, desperately trying to find a way out. "let me go and call the gardener, "I suggested, hoping to avoid the task that was not mine. But Mr. Peterson's cold gaze pierced through me. "I want you to do it yourself, "he said firmly, his voice sending shivers down my spine.
  • "But sir, it's late already and Chloe is not feeling too well, "Mrs. Vilis interjected her voice filled with concern. Mr Anderson's tone cut through the air once again. "Mrs Vilis why don't you keep doing what you are doing and stay out of this? Or don't you like your job anymore? "he snapped, his words stinging like a sharp slap. Mrs. Vilis recoiled, her eyes welling up with tears. I'm sorry, sir, "she whispered, her voice barely audible.
