As I descended the steps, I felt Alex's eyes boring into me, his gaze lingering in a way that made my skin crawl with discomfort. Each glance from him felt like an invasion of my privacy, a reminder of the powerlessness I felt in his presence. Despite my best efforts to conceal my disdain, I couldn't help but seethe with resentment at his unwavering scrutiny.
As we reached the bottom of the stairs, Alex opened the car door for me, his hand outstretched in a mock gesture of chivalry. I reluctantly accepted his offer, the weight of his touch sending a shiver of revulsion down my spine as we climbed into the car and set off toward our destination.
