Chapter 82

• "You want a drink?" Uche whispered in my ear where we sat by a corner. The music was loud and the lights were so dim, I felt blind.
• I nodded and he kissed my chin briefly before going to get drinks for us. I sat looking around, trying to identify the people dancing and making out in room but my eyes hadn't yet adjusted to the lights.
• "Julie!" April shook me from behind. She walked around the chair and sat next to me, right where Uche was sitting before he left.
