Chapter 4

• For some reason, I wanted to see what was happening there, watching someone else through their window, I felt I was a stalker, but I didn't plan to harm this person or anything, so I was basically not.
• Someone walked into the room, I took the swing chair that was in the room, closer to the window, so I could sit and be comfortable. The person was a male, a teenage male.
• The person just stood there, ran his hands through his hair roughly, then sat on the bed for awhile doing nothing. I got bored and decided to go to bed but just when I stood up from the chair, the person also stood up.
• It was then, it occurred to me that he looked familiar. Was it Uche? Did he live next door? He stood there looking in my direction for a while, I think he just noticed that I was there.
• I bent down immediately and creeped to my bedside. I hope he didn't know it was me. He would think I was psycho to be watching him through the window.
• After a moment of breathing heavily, because he almost caught me, In my bed now, I peeped through the window In a way that I wasn't noticable, his lights was still on. I just laid in bed ready to wait till he turned off those lights.
• Morning.
• I woke up when I heard loud knocking on my room door. I picked up my phone and looked at the screen lock for the time, it was 7:26. It was past 7!!
• "Julie?!!" My aunt was still knocking.
• I got up from the bed and hurried to the bathroom. Quickly putting on a belt for my skirt, I hopped on one foot, trying to wear my sandals.
• "Aunt!" I said once I opened the door and saw her there already dressed up for work."Good morning." I greeted.
• "You're gonna make me late for work, Julie, get your bag, let's leave." She said and I did. Hurrying downstairs, she handed me a bowl of cereal. Did she make my cereal for me?
• "Nick's left for school already, that was when I knew you were still asleep.I initially planned on driving you both to school today and then register you, but Nick left, go on eat, hurry."
• I looked at the bowl in my hand. She had put more milk than I liked into the cereal, now it was almost soggy. I picked up the spoon and put a spoonful in my mouth, I had already made her late for work, like she said, the least I could do right now, was to finish this cereal and get into her car, so we could leave.
• "I'm done." I announced victoriously, with some of the cereal still in my mouth.
• "Good, let's go." She was now at the door, holding it and waiting for me to pass through. I quickly rinsed my hands in the kitchen sink and was almost at the door when she said:
• "Grab me an apple from the table." I went back and got one of the apples on the dinning table.
• Finally, we were in her car, I could breath without hurry. She took a bite of the apple and started the car, I sat in f ront with her.When her car drove past Uche's house, I looked back just to see it again.
• "What?" She held her brake.
• "Uh?" I asked not knowing why she asked what.
• "Did you forget something?"
• "No." I shook my head.
• "You were looking backwards, like you forgot something."
• "No. I didn't forget anything."
• "Okay." She took a bite off the apple again.
• when we got to the school, I could see some of the students still walking in. I followed her when we were directed to an office. We had to wait for awhile before a woman came in.
• "Good morning, so sorry, I couldn't be here earlier." She greeted. "She's the one to be admitted?"
• 'Obviously!!!" I yelled inside my mind. My aunt just nodded.
• "Alright, welcome to our school." The woman smiled. Someone else came into the office, after a quick knock, it was a student.
• "You asked for me?" The girl asked.
• "Yes, I need you to show....." She stopped."Julie right?" she asked me.
• "Yes." I nodded.
• "Please show Julie here to your classroom, she is new and will be joining your class."
• I didn't need to be told to get up and follow the girl. When we were both about to leave, I heard my aunt say.
• "Bye baby." She smiled as usual."Have a good day."
• I had no choice than to return the smile even though I found it weird, what she just called me but I figured out it was a sort of way she showed her love. I've heard her call Nick weirder things.
• When we left the office, I let the girl lead the way and we walked for a while before she finally spoke.
• "I'm Casey." She smiled looking back at me.
• I swear, I wanted to roll my eyes to show how uninterested I was, in getting to know her but I didn't. I chose to be nice Julie today, so I smiled back.
• "Julie." She nodded when I said my name. W didn't say anything to each other till we got to where the Lockers were in the hallway.
• I followed her when she walked up to one of the lockers. She opened the top one.
• "I have a free locker below mine, that's why I was asked to take you to class, so I could also show you to your locker." She took out a note.
• "Wait.... mine's the one below?" She nodded. "Why? I don't like it." Why would they give me this one!
• "If you want....you can use mine, I'll take the the lower one." She smiled.
• I looked at her for a while, was she serious? If I did that, then I will be this selfish new girl, I didn't want her own friends thinking that.
• "I don't have friends, don't worry, no one would say anything, not like anyone cares." She said like she read my thoughts, I looked at her again, worried this time, can she hear my thoughts."Trust me." She added them smiled again.
• "Don't worry, I'll manage." I said and she lead the way again."Why don't you have friends? You don't look like a nerd?" She didn't look anything like a nerd, who is likely to not have friends.
• She was tall, taller than I was even, and she was beautiful, and dressed quite alright, so i had ask.
• "I...uhm...I used to...." She stopped talking and walking too, we were at our class' door, I guess. " I will explain later." She
• smiled and she went in, I followed.
