Chapter 20

• I went upstairs and plugged my phone to charge before going to the bathroom to take a shower. It was when the water droplets wet my hair that it occurred to me that I didn't give Uche my reply after he asked me out. I had walked away with Nick going on and on. I should have just said yes before he received Nick's call but then my aunt would have still been worried.
• Thinking of it in the shower, Uche was right, the creek did grant wishes, I wished for a mutual likeness from him and he just asked me to be his girlfriend, I just hope it actually grants my first wish, I hope my mum's time at the rehabilitation center is shortened.
• I sat in bed, part of my hair still wet, I put a small towel around my neck and unlocked my phone and messages and calls notifications kept popping in. Many of them were from Nick.
