• While we walked home, it was a quiet. Too quiet, because Uche and Nick were usually talking about something funny all the way while I listened and laughed or I was the one talking with Uche.
• "So where are you guys going?" I decided to ask loudly, not referring the question to either of them in particular.
• Nick glanced at me then returned to his phone. I looked at Uche who was walking by my side, he was smiling. He took my hands, and I didn't try to stop him this time.
