• Jeri didn’t want a scene or to stress anyone out. Not when everyone was already strung out about the announcement. She put her hand on Trendan’s arm and nodded.
• He searched her eyes for a moment and then nodded and turned back to him. “Thanks, Sigor.”
• Trendan’s mother rushed across the room. “You are so lovely.” She didn’t stop; just kept coming until she was hugging Jeri tightly. “I’ve waited all these years for daughters, and now I suddenly have three.” She sniffled.
