Chapter 11
- Trendan stood at the corner and stared at the building. He was here again. Not to stare from a rooftop at the bricks and wait to catch a glimpse of Jerika. This time, he was on the pavement and going to go speak with her. He wasn’t sure if it had been his idea to have her there when Glen was reunited with his other and child or if someone else had said it. The meeting about them finally being together had been one with many voices speaking—his father, mother, Sigor and Bastian. Liri had even been present, along with Nova and all their guards. Moments after the discussion, he’d volunteered to bring Jerika to meet with Princess Paisley, who was taking them to Alterealm. He glanced at his arm and hoped the implant did what it was meant to. He’d never been ported in but always landed in the acclimation chamber.
- Glen’s other, Sonia, and his young daughter, Cambree, were already set up in a house in Alterealm. They just had to take Glen there to see them. No one had discussed what happened beyond that. Princess Aireese said she wouldn’t be needed because Glen’s mind was healed, from the magic at least. The anger and betrayal emotions would probably never go away.
- He didn’t get five feet before Capri appeared in the opening of the garage and watched him walk toward her. He looked at her hair. It wasn’t moving, so he took that as a sign of welcome—he hoped.
