On the ride home, Amy let her mind wander to Diana Bennet, Reynolds mother and her mother-in-law. Mother in-law sounded absurd to her, but she had no choice, she would learn to put up with the name tags until she could get her freedom back.
She casted her mind back to when she had first met her at her father's party and then when she went over to their place to drop off some flowers. Amy was a good judge of character and even though she and Reynolds mother hadn't had the time to bond she could tell the kind of person she was.
Diana was quite short but what she lacked in height she made up for in beauty. She was very beautiful, most of the wives of wealthy men were expected to be beautiful but Diana's beauty had a particular softness and natural touch to it.
