Chapter 19 The Bothersome Newspaper

  • The alarm blared loudly, cutting short the dream Amy was having about a certain pair of dark green eyes. Those eyes would definitely be her undoing and even maybe the owner of them. She switched the alarm off before it could ring again. It was six in the morning. Her stomach growled noisily signaling how hungry she was. She had missed dinner yesterday and had barely had any of the meals served at the party last night.
  • As she stood from her bed abruptly, a sudden wave of excruciating pain struck her like lightning in her abdomen. Aunty flow couldn't have chosen a better time to visit, she thought sarcastically. It wasn't even that time of the month for her. She knew that because the tracking app she used had not updated her like it normally did. She dragged herself to the walk in bath house and performed her morning routine.
  • She stepped in her room and noticed the sun was almost fully out. She decided on a blue dress which came with a belt, put on her heels and went down to have breakfast. She was surprised to see her dad, dressed in a gray suit seated at the table that early for breakfast reading a newspaper. Who even delivered those that early in the morning. "Good morning princess, did you sleep well?" her father inquired as he closed the newspaper and dropped it on the table beside a glass of what she presumed to be pineapple juice. "Yes, father. You're early today. What's the occasion?" She walked to her father and dropped a kiss on his cheeks. I need to supervise the goods arriving today. It's a batch of important goods," her father answered just as she took the seat beside him.
