Chapter 33 The Final Confrontation

• The forest was a hive. The fight between the packs dragged on, the sound of metal clashing and wolf snarls resonating through the trees. Fighting waves of Shadowfangs, Esker and Olivia stood together, their backs against a big oak tree.
• Esker was racing through his thoughts at how urgent the matter was. Both numerically and tactically they were outmatched. Esker had not expected the Shadowfangs to fight with such a ferocity and coordination. They were a force that had been organizing this attack for years, waiting for the ideal opportunity to strike, not just any other rival pack.
• With a labored voice, Esker cried, "We need to hold them off," above the sound of combat. "Do not let them to get past our barriers!"
