Chapter 30 Interrogation

• Three years ago, Julian saw Sarah for the first time from a distance. It happened when his mother practically forced him to accompany her to a beauty salon for facial acupressure and all sorts of other things about women that he simply didn’t understand. It was something he had been reluctant to do back then, but he had been grateful for it ever since. Because of that little act of coercion, he got to see the owner of the salon from afar almost every week.
• Fortunately, Julian had a mother who loved talking about the details of her daily life. She would tell him about her hobby of collecting books, her love of learning how to cook, her regular visits to the special-needs school she had founded, and her habit of taking care of herself every weekend.
• From those stories, Julian learned that the owner of the beauty salon his mother frequently visited was named Sarah.Sarah Carter. Unfortunately, Julian had never had the courage or the opportunity to even introduce himself or exchange a few words with the long haired woman.
