Chapter 21 A Close Friend

• Jason's threat to send Declan to the hospital's ER had actually come true. Before leaving the hospital after Sarah's family arrived, Declan was escorted to the ER by several nurses so he could receive immediate treatment. His injuries weren't too serious, but he still needed a few stitches at the corner of his mouth, along with some painkillers to ease the throbbing pain in his head.
• “Argh...!” Declan ran both hands through his hair in frustration.
• Again and again, his clenched fist struck the steering wheel of the car that had just come to a stop in front of his house. The very house that had silently witnessed how Sarah had once treated him like a king a lucky man blessed with a perfect queen.
