• “Thanks for coming all the way here to see me,” Norah said brightly.
• Ever since she had returned home from the hospital, their large house had been filled with a steady stream of neighbors and relatives taking turns to visit her. After the neighbors on either side of the house had stopped by that morning, it was Jack’s turn in the afternoon. Sarah’s eldest brother arrived with his wife and their two children, Raka and Rania.
• “It’s no problems, Mom. We actually wanted to visit you at the hospital yesterday, but Sarah said it would be better to come after you were home.” Jack glanced at his youngest sister, who was holding Rania in her lap. “I’m sorry Dad couldn’t come either. He’s still in Malang because Uncle Hilman is sick.”
