Chapter 115 Delight

  • We started moving, again. We drove slowly for about a mile and then came to what seemed like a small town. We passed a large brick building that was under construction. After that, there were houses, and businesses. I saw very few vehicles. Of course, if the pack had stores, there was less reason to have to leave the pack lands, and pack members might not need cars. A lot of people were standing on the sidewalks watching us. The smell of Vin-Ta was intense. While looking at the people on the sidewalks, something bothered me. I couldn't tell what it was, at first. Then I realized what it was. There were young people. I think subconsciously I expected packs to contain only old folks, like my old pack. Then I saw a man pushing a stroller! An older child was walking with them. Was this where all the people who had left Mountain Gap ended up?
  • I heard a wolf howl nearby. I wondered if it was a greeting.
  • The van came to a stop.
