Chapter 101 Awake

• I fell asleep with Dave's arm around me. I woke when the car stopped. I looked around. We were on a residential street. The sun had risen while I slept. I saw Lisa, Jerry, and Keith's father standing outside next to the car. There was something familiar about him. I got out of the car and saw another man. He had a gun in a holster. He had to be Jesse. Keith took my hand.
• "Dad, this is Jack," Keith said.
• Jerry was grinning at me. Lisa didn't look too happy, though. But then, if Keith's father was my mate, she had no reason to be happy.
