Chapter 1

• Billy came back to New York immediately after he received the news of his parents’ death. He is the only child of his parents and the second-generation heir to Durim Group, a multi-billionaire company in New York and abroad. Ever since he was five, his grandfather wanted him to take over the company.
• "Young master,"
• Ray, one of the most trusted men in Durim Group, called and approached him at the arrivals. He immediately collected Billy's bag. A black BMW car was parked in front of Billy. Ray opened the car door for Billy, and Billy entered the car, then the car drove off.
• Billy arrived at the Dalton’s family house and saw his grandfather, aunt, cousin Arti, and some other Dalton family members.
• Everyone had gloomy expressions.
• "Billy, come to grandfather," Billy's grandfather called him when he saw that Billy had arrived.
• "I’m sorry, grandson, I could not protect your father and mother," the old man wept.
• "It's not your fault, grandfather," Billy said and looked at his grandfather helplessly.
• "Poor boy, he did not even enjoy the company of his parents before they died," Billy's aunt, Dalton Mari, said in a low voice but loud enough for everyone to hear.
• "Mari, if you don't know what to say, just keep your mouth shut!" Billy's grandfather shouted at his daughter in anger. Mari was the only elder sister of Billy's father, Dalton Evans.
• "Father, I am only pitying the poor boy since he is still young and only got to see his parents every New Year and now, he will not be able to see them anymore," Mari said mockingly.
• "If you don't know what to say, just go back to your husband's house!" the old man roared at her. Mari became scared and could not say anything more.
• Billy looks pained but did not get angry at what his aunt said because he already knew that his father and aunt were not close to each other, even though they were siblings.
• "Grandfather," Billy called his grandfather after some time.
• "I’d like to see Mom and Dad," Billy said, looking determined.
• "Will you be okay seeing them?" Billy's grandfather looked at Billy pitifully.
• "Yes, grandfather," Billy replied with a straight face.
• Ray drove Billy to the hospital where Billy's parents' corpses were kept. When Billy saw his parents' corpses, he felt sad. He remembered how excited he was when they told him that they would all go on vacation in the coming year.
• Tears streamed down his face.
• "Young master, are you alright?" Ray asked with concern when he saw that. Billy quickly wiped his face and pretended to be strong. He had been taught not to show his weakness to others, even though he was still young.
• "Dad, Mom, I will expose whoever is behind your accident," Billy said in his mind. He knew that it was not just an accident, but he did not know who could have done such a thing.
• The next day, Billy's parents were buried. That night, Billy's grandfather called him to talk to him.
• "Billy, I know your parents are gone, and you must need time to recover from the grief. But you know that the company also needs you," Billy's grandfather paused and continued.
• "Since your father died, the company has been affected a lot, and I’m too old to handle everything by myself. I need you to take over the company. I cannot let your aunt or cousin take over the company," Billy's grandfather said and looked at Billy expectantly.
• "I know, grandfather, but I need some time. Also, I cannot just leave school like that to work in the company," Billy replied.
• "Why should you still go to school? You have the company," Billy's grandfather asked anxiously.
• "Grandfather, I will only agree to take over the company if you let me continue schooling," Billy said, looking down arrogantly. He knew that his parents would have wanted him to finish school first if they were still alive.
• His grandfather kept quiet for a long time as if considering something.
• "Okay, you can continue schooling, but you cannot let your studies affect the company in any way," his grandfather warned.
• "It will not," Billy replied instantly.
• "And I give you only one month to get yourself ready," his grandfather added, patting him on the shoulder, then left him speechless.

• Although many people were not optimistic about him, Billy successfully took over the company within a month and became famous in the American financial world.
• When school resumed, he transferred to Justice High School instead of Durim group school which belongs to his family to avoid being too noticeable.
• "My name is Dalton Billy. I just transferred here from abroad. Please take care of me," he said with a smile, some of the girls in the class shouted because he was so handsome. He also had dimples. The moment he smiled, his dimples became evident.
• Then the teacher asked him to sit beside a girl. The girl's name was Betty Hood.
• Betty was always quiet in class, and she never liked to talk to anyone. Billy greeted her, but she ignored Billy as if he was not visible.
• Billy scratched his head out of habit because he had never been ignored all his life.
• "This girl is interesting," he said to himself.
• At lunch, he noticed that Betty did not leave the class even when everyone else went for lunch. Billy looked at Betty with concern.
• "She seems to be lonely," he thought.
• That night, after Billy finished his bath, he lay on the bed, trying to sleep. But the image of Betty's sad face appeared again and again in his mind.
• She was adorable but quiet. She always stayed calm as if she cared about nothing. However, Billy could see the hidden sadness in her eyes, those beautiful eyes, just like a clean pool that attracted him to fall in.
• "What magic has she cast on me?" Billy sighed and covered himself with the duvet.
• "Well, I’ll find the answer someday."

• The next day at Justice High School, Billy tried to get close to Betty again but always failed. He was ignored again and again, just like the first time.
• Later that day, while Billy was going to the company, already change his cloth looking like a CEO, he happened to meet Betty on her way home.
• "What a coincidence,"
• “Follow that girl” he commands the driver.
• Betty seems to notice Billy’s car following her but walk faster, Billy smirked.
• "Well, let’s see how long you will take to run away."
• Seeing the car continues to follow her, Betty's heart skipped a beat. Without any reason, she had a bad feeling about his sudden attention. She was a normal girl who just wanted to finish high school peacefully. She didn’t want to get into any problems.
• Obviously, getting too close to that Brand New School Star wouldn’t bring her any luck but troubles. She quickened her pace unconsciously, trying to get rid of him.
• Suddenly, two guys came out from a corner and blocked her way.
