Chapter 16 A House Built On Lies

• Zara’s POV
• I paced back and forth around the house that was now supposedly ours. Leo’s and mine.
• I thought my father was joking when he called me over, saying he had a surprise for me. I thought he got me a little something because I returned to Smith Holdings. “I have a surprise for you, Zara!” he had said with a voice bubbling with excitement. I imagined him to be glowing with the joy of being a generous father. He gave me an address that led me here. I didn’t know what to expect, but I couldn’t have considered it to be a house.
