• The drive from the cemetery was a confusing one. The weight of everything was sitting heavy on my shoulders. I was unsure whether Zara was mad at me or Zane or the both of us. Although, I understood why she was crying and on the edge all through. I wish I had taken the time to calm down but I dismissed her like a coward.
• I wasn’t ready to talk about myself or my past. Even my foster parents know better than to bring up anything from my past. It was locked and sealed for a reason. I just wasn’t ready to reopen closed chapters. Zara just had to trust me for who I say I am.
