Family. They're the people who accept you for who you are, even knowing how flawed you might seem to others. They're the only ones who will stand by your side, no matter how dark your days or how low you feel. Family provides comfort, love, and acceptance. Even though Gigi wasn't fortunate in life, God gave her a family that accepted her for who she was.
I smiled hearing Pia's shrill laughter as Adrian chased her. They were happily playing in the pool Gigi had rented for her family. There was no special occasion; Gigi just wanted to take her family to a resort to relieve stress. It was Christmas break, so her siblings were off school.
“You seem happy,” her mother said, sitting beside her at the pool's edge. “Your siblings noticed you've been laughing a lot lately,” she added.
