• Gigi watched Fabian from the edge of the swimming pool as he spoke with Alfie. When she'd answered Alfie's call earlier, many questions had raced through her mind. She'd almost refused to answer, but Fabian had insisted their discussion with Roccio was important and he didn't want to be distracted by calls.
• She couldn't help feeling nervous; many people now knew she was alive. If this reached Vira and McIntosh, Gigi was certain her life would be in danger again, possibly endangering Fabian and others who were helping her.
• Gigi leaned against the wall, listening to their conversation. She knew it was wrong, but she couldn't help herself, especially since Alfie already knew she was with Fabian.
