Chapter 18

• Fabian parked his car in a narrow alley and observed a noisy group drinking outside a small convenience store. He turned off the engine and took in the scene. This was the address the private investigator had given him. His eyebrow arched at what he saw. Fabian didn’t like the place; it was crowded and full of loiterers. He didn’t want to be judgmental, but places like this often bred petty crimes.
• Does she really live in a place like this?
• A drunk man let out a loud, boisterous laugh while chatting with his drinking buddies. He was obviously intoxicated beyond reason but continued to gulp down alcohol.
