- “Welcome ma’am,” I heard one of the workers who came to receive us in the guest house say to Amber. My thoughts and attention had been on her since we left Jake’s villa, that I didn’t care about Susan who sat next to me in the passenger’s seat even when she tried to get me to speak on our way here.
- “You should have at least opened the door for me,” Susan said after she stepped out of the car.
