• Maya was in her room, having long since changed out of her elegant silver dress into comfortable cotton pajamas and a soft cardigan. As she sat on the edge of the massive bed, brushing out her long black hair, she felt a shiver run down her spine as her mind wandered back to her earlier conversation with Pedro.
• 'That man looked as scary as fuck when he's pissed.'
• But when she remembered how absolutely dumbfounded Pedro had looked when she'd told him the truth about her hair, Maya rolled onto the bed and burst into delighted laughter.
